Well, I took my 'new' 86' Savage for a spin today for about an hour. It's funny because I thought I was just going to buy the bike and then sell it real fast for a quick profit.....WRONG! It's a cool little bike! I got it to about 85 on the freeway and that's plenty fast enough in my opinion. The torque was there too on the low end for city streets. It was very laid back and made me just get the 'chill' feeling. When I went to get gas a bunch of sport riders showed up and a couple of them gave me a nod. It was interesting because they didn't know I'm like them.....I was a Savage dude right then! Also, I gotta say.....The Savage I have has 2255 miles ('86) and had been sitting for about 4 years. All I did was put in a new battery, clean out the old gas and refill the tank and it STARTED RIGHT UP! Another thing that makes me want to keep the bike was that my GF digs it. She's scared shitless of the Ninja and Hayabusa but she jumped right on the Savage and took a ride (her FIRST!) Anyways, it looks like the Savage is a keeper. I don't really need 3 bikes but they say that variety is the spice of life......besides, it's really cool to just sit back and chug away with the big single. In short.....I'm digging it! Especially since it only cost me $450 plus a $37 battery :) Soooo, should I do the brass screw cover drill/ remove plastic mod? I did notice a couple backfires but thanks to you guys I already expected it. Later all......
Brett
